[00:01:08] Speaker A: This is your host, Dee Wells. Why not you? And we are back with another episode. I'm excited. I'm excited. We're continuing on. We are continuing on. And his transformation quest journey last week was who are you?
Which was a recap or just, just real brief? I mean, we talked about who we are in God and how we are ambassadors. And with that ambassadorship, you actually represent the one who actually sent you to go out.
[00:01:41] Speaker C: I had so much fun with that one.
[00:01:42] Speaker A: And now we are coming back to.
We aren't coming back. We're going forward to talk about where are you from? And so we're just hitting on some of the questions that I was asked by my mentor. And this one right here, this kind of, this particular question or this question right here, for whatever reason, had me.
Well, of course, I know now, but, like, when I just think about it and reflect, like, where am I from? Where are you from?
We're going to get into it. But it's like one of those questions that sounds vague, of course, but just hear me out. Just hear me out.
[00:02:25] Speaker C: Because I remember back in the day.
[00:02:26] Speaker A: I used to wonder where I was from as a little kid and how I was created. And of course, you're told those stories. Oh, you were dropped off by the stork. And so all of a sudden, you start seeing these cartoon images of characters, and you got the stork and the blanket that's wrapped around the nose or the beak, and then there's a baby inside this blanket.
[00:02:53] Speaker C: So it's like you're left up to your imagination until you get older and.
[00:02:59] Speaker A: You just begin to discover the truth either by, you know, a parent or a friend.
Education. Like the teachers, right? But, you know, of course, parents, you know, they sometimes they might leave out some stuff where they are. You're not ready about it. You're not ready. You're not ready to hear about the birds and the bees kind of stuff.
[00:03:21] Speaker C: So I was like, what? What's going on here?
[00:03:26] Speaker A: It's like the. Remember that television series that. The facts of life?
Yeah.
And so here we are, just kind of waiting for. Well, at that time, just waiting for somebody just to kind of explain to me. Meanwhile, you know, I had questions, and as I got older, still young, still young, but I had the questions, and I was uncertain to believe, like, what I heard. I'm like, okay, I just wasn't falling for anything. Back in the day. I mean, you could talk and share, but if it wasn't making sense to me and you couldn't prove it, of.
[00:04:07] Speaker C: Course I would form my own opinion about whatever it was.
[00:04:11] Speaker A: And I know, you know, sometimes it just kind of.
You think about, where were you from? Procreation is like, man, science on a whole nother level, right?
Where am I from? Where am I from? Where am I from? So when I got.
When I got older, of course, and had my daughter, that's when. That's when life and perspective changed for me. You know, my attitude, my attitude changed, my priorities changed, and now I'm in that father role.
Now I'm in that father role. And I could see, I mean, if you just put yourself, I guess now that we're actually in that father role, now we actually have, like, an idea of, you know, what it was like to be God because, you know, I'm sure he feels the same way that we feel at times when our kids might get off track or they on track, we want to celebrate their wins.
We want to praise them for doing good.
And then when they fall back, it's like, okay, they need us to guide them. They need us to encourage them. They need us to uplift them and train them and show them the way.
Okay, now I'm put in this position, and I'm starting to notice just a change in my own spirit.
It was.
I wasn't sure what it was because I never felt it before.
And it was. It was like. It was like I was yearning for something more than I had.
I could. It was. It was just one of. It was.
I don't know, just one else thing. I just really can't explain. It was just, there was excitement. There was.
There was some. Some fear. There was a little anxiety.
And, of course, you have your, your biological parents, and they're always there that kind of encourage you there to lift you up and let you know, baby, if you need anything, just let me know. I'll be happy to help. Of course, you got the grandparents who are the same way, right, and friends and other relatives, of course. But this feeling right here, none of them could help with, because this was something that was going on, on the inside.
And that's what happens when you are a child of God and you think about whose image you were actually created in, in the first place.
Anyways, I began to have, like, this, this feeling and this burden of discomfort. And it wasn't like an overwhelming type of discomfort. It wasn't like a discomfort, like, in pain, but it was just like, what is this? And not knowing what that was, that was forced me to really just search and, you know, I couldn't explain. I wanted to know what it was. And it was like, you know, you think about having, you think about having a pet or some type of animal who just kind of follows you, right? And it's like, what do you want now? What do you want now? It was almost kind of like that. It was like I had this feeling like somebody was around me, and I was like, where's this feeling coming from? Where is this? Where's this coming from? What? What do you want from me? Kind of thing. And it made me think about, as I was, like, just kind of thinking about this as I'm coming up with this, this content here is, like, made me think about the movie ghost and Patrick Swayze.
After Patrick had passed away and he found out that Demi Moore was in trouble and that one of his closest friends kind of betrayed him over some silliness. And so now Patrick Swayze, he's a. He's this ghost, and now he's. He realizes the power that he has, how he's actually able to touch an actual object and make it move as he's a ghost. Right? And so I was. I was kind of feeling, like, the same way. Like, I felt something just kind of, like, nudging at me, not sure what it was. But later. But later on, of course, you know, I end up discovering.
But just that that thought alone can actually make.
I know in the movie ghost, I know they were going crazy. I didn't feel like I was going crazy, but I did feel like I had, like, this unknown presence that was. That was around me. And I just began reading, reading the Bible. I was searching. I wasn't understanding everything I read, but I felt something change on the inside, and I felt something change on the inside. And during this time, I had a janitorial business, and I end up becoming part of this barter, this barter system. And one of the things that, you know, we were able to do was just kind of do some side jobs and get paid in different ways through this particular organization.
And so I wasn't just doing a residential or, I mean, not residential, but commercial type property through this. Through this barter system. And so it allowed me to do some residential stuff as well. And so I ended up meeting this fantastic couple, Ken and Sherry Cordero. I remember this. Remember them to this day. Ken had a pool cleaning service business, and Sherry, she just has some issues with her back, which was one of the reasons why I was helping them out.
So during this time, I'm there. I remember Sherry was always playing, you know, Charles Stanley.
Oh, man. Who else? Chuck Swindell and some other pastors, christians on this radio station. And I'll never forget, when Ken actually left the house, it was just he and I there. He left the house, came back and said, derek, the Lord has put on my heart just to share Christ with you. And he said, have you ever received Christ, your lord and savior? I was like, no.
So he ends up sharing the plan of salvation with me, and then I accept Christ, my lord and savior. And then here we are, years later. But it's just a growing season for me. And this is crazy thing. I know not all people believe in a higher power, and I get it.
They have their reasons.
You know, when you just think about some of the common questions that people may ask is, you know, how could there be a loving God with all the chaos that goes on in the world? Where is God? When, you know, these wars are breaking out and people are hating other people based on their skin color, their culture, or political difference, I get it. But one thing I can definitely tell you where God is. And God is in the hearts of the people who are his. God is in the heart of his people.
There are still the ones who out there representing God. Regardless of the crazy confusion. You can't let some of the other stuff just kind of discourage you or dictate what you believe, but you definitely have to form your own opinion. But yes, God is a father to the fatherless, to the ones who have a father. Of course he's a father to them.
You need to just think about he is he is the one who created all, including you. And that's why you miss him.
[00:12:00] Speaker C: That's why you miss him.
[00:12:01] Speaker A: Anything that was created in somebody else's image, you're going to miss. It's no different than the reason why you miss your mom, your dad.
When you think about the one that actually created you, regardless of the success or the lack of.
There are those. There are the ones who. Oh, man. There just has been those ones who have had your back, you know, since the beginning. But when you think about God, he's had your back, back from the beginning. He's the one you miss, the one that created you, the one that fills the void like only a father can. And so when you think about where you come from, yes, you are a child of your parents, but the one who actually made your existence possible, that's when you need to get to know, because he said, talking to. Talking to Jeremiah, before I formed you in the mother's womb, or formed you in the womb, I knew you. And before you were born, I consecrated you. I appointed you a prophet to the nations.
Now, he was talking to Jeremiah about being a prophet. I'm not sure what his plans for you are, but you definitely have some plans that you need to get moving on, because he anointed you. He anointed you to be something big.
I'm not sure what it is, but he has done that, and he will use you for a specific reason, and you'll be somebody of significance, I guarantee, when you connect with him. Absolutely.
And so this was. And this was Jeremiah's response to what God had said. He said, ah, lord God, truly, I don't know how to speak, for I'm only a boy. But the Lord said to me, do not say I am only a boy, for you shall go to all whom I send you, and you shall speak whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, says the Lord.
That right there is a bar. Because so many times people get worried about what other people say, what other people think, because it's something that you want to do.
They didn't create you. They aren't the ones paying your bills. They don't know what kind of downloads you get on a regular from God.
So how could you allow them to have the power over you and create this doubt or confusion of who you are and what you're capable of doing?
They can't. I mean, I've been. I posted so on social media, and I had people that I know that I work with who's like, oh, there goes Derek, the one who thinks he's the motivational speaker, blah, blah, blah.
[00:14:52] Speaker C: I don't even trip. I don't even trip because I just think about, what are you doing?
[00:14:56] Speaker A: What are you doing that's going to add value to somebody else?
Don't worry about those folks.
Now that you know who created you and the task that was given to you, don't worry about what other people say.
Just worry about God, because he's going to be the one who guides you the entire way, just like he said to Jeremiah. So don't just deviate, but remember what God says. I am with you to deliver you.
Now, I know the unknown can be scary, but there's excitement and thrill about doing something that you've never done before. I mean, just being able to push yourself beyond your own limits and expectations to accomplish a major triumph, man, it is huge.
I just want to share something real quick, and it's, you know, it's more like scientific, or. Or, yeah, it's just scientific, but you just think about, okay, the fact that there are hundreds and hundreds of million of sperm on average that are released at once, all jockeying for position, and.
[00:16:06] Speaker C: You were the one that made it. How fast, and is it. How fascinating is it, though, just.
[00:16:11] Speaker A: Just knowing that the odds were against you from the beginning, and here you are to talk about it. You are here to share your story.
Now, do you think that you were here just for, you know, by an accident? Absolutely not. You were created to fight.
You were created to fight. And there are others who need to hear your story.
The service that you actually provide, whatever that may be, the creation that you create and your encouragement. God told Jeremiah that he formed them in his mother's womb.
That means before the earth even existed. Come on, y'all need to get pumped.
[00:16:49] Speaker C: Y'all need to get pumped up, because.
[00:16:51] Speaker A: This means that Jeremiah was in the mind and plans of God before Jeremiah was even placed in the womb of his mother.
Your life is predestined. Come on. You a fighter destined for greatness. And God orchestrated all of this for his purpose. That God told Jeremiah why he created him, the purpose he was destined for, and what he would fulfill. Now, God knows the will of everyone he created and why. Therefore, align your will with God's will so he can reveal what is waiting for you. That's right. He's your father.
[00:17:30] Speaker C: When he is your father, the one.
[00:17:33] Speaker A: Who has you here at this time and loves you.
